Listed below are the Acts of the South Carolina General Assembly assigned act numbers during the 1992 legislative session.
Following each act number are the ratification number
(preceded by an R), the bill number
(preceded by an H for House or an S for Senate)
and a brief description of the act.

-- Life insurance companies, actuaries. Effective
March 10, 1992, except Section 38-9-180(B) of the
1976 Code, added in Section 1 of this act, takes effect
one year after approval.
-- Nongame fishing devices, provisions. Effective
July 1, 1993, except the amendment to Section
50-13-1116, Section 1, and Section 50-13-1180 adding (F)
and (G), Section 6, take effect April 8, 1992.
-- Reinsurance Intermediary Act. Effective May 4,
1992, however, no insurer or reinsurer may utilize
the services of a reinsurance intermediary six months or
more after the effective date unless utilization is in
compliance with Chapter 46, Title 38 of the 1976 Code.
-- Managing General Agents Act. Effective December
31, 1992. No insurer may utilize the services
of a managing general agency after the effective date
unless the utilization is in compliance with this act.
-- Handicapped parking. Effective June 2, 1992,
except: (1) the provisions of Sections 1, 2, and 5 shall
apply to any person whose license has been suspended
under Section 56-1-745(C) or Section 56-1-746(D), and
(2) Section 4 takes effect one hundred twenty days after
approval by the Governor.
-- Tax Commission, solid waste disposal fees.
Effective: Section 1 takes effect January 1, 1992.
Sections 2, 5, and 6 take effect July 1, 1992. Sections 3
and 4 take effect ninety days after July 1, 1992.
-- Public Service Commission, motor carriers.
Effective: Section 1 of this act takes effect July
1,1992.
Section 2 of this act takes effect on the earlier of
January 1, 1994, or the effective date of Section 4005 of
the Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act of
1991, P.L. 102-240.
-- POW, motor vehicle registration. Effective July 1,
1992, except as otherwise provided, and applies
to vehicles owned or leased by a former POW or his
surviving spouse after December 31, 1990.
-- Archives and History Department. Effective July 1,
1992, for Sections 60-12-40, 60-12-70, and
60-12-90. The remaining provisions of this act take
effect July 1, 1993.
-- Environmental permits, licenses, etc. Effective
July 10, 1992, and authority granted the South
Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control
by Section 1 of this act terminates June 30, 1993,
or upon enactment of Section 39.24, Part I of the 1992-93
General Appropriations Act.
